I'll be in Dublin Airport for a couple of hours next month. I've already been advised that there is noplace there to get a decent breakfast.
So, is there anyplace worth shopping at the airport? Anything I can get at the airport that I can't get in the U.S. and that is worth bringing back?
Or should I just plan on pacing around until my plane takes off?
Dublin Airport is horrendous.
The food court up stairs after security is very very poor and very expensive compared to what you get. The Brasseri is even more over priced and even pooorer. The service is unbelievably bad (if you even get a chance to understand what the waiters say) so my tip there would be stay clear. The up stair food court before security is better, but not much as you have a wider choice.
What to buy you ask? Nothing. The only good shop at the airport is Huges & Huges when you can get ok priced books and magazines as well as sweets and drinks otherwise don't bother spend time there!
Yes booze, but you can get this anywhere in the world anyway and again, it's not much cheaper than anywhere else.
If you MUST bring something get the Baileys Chocolates which are actually really good and ok priced. Often you can get 3 for the price of 2, but cheaper from the supermarkets in the city (i.e. Dunnes Store).
Hope this helps a little...
Cheers,
F
