before they were bought out by AA, I used to fly TWA a lot. On the SFO-STL leg, they had some very very senior people. One FA in perticular was probably about 75, and we hit some horrible turbulence (plane just dropped about 10 feet and started to rock) and she fell in the galley. Passangers and another FA helped her into a seat (F was not totally full, it was a 757) where she stayed in obvious pain for the rest of the flight. Next time I flew and recognized a SFO based crew I asked. They said she suffered a hairline fracture in her hip and had retired. Very sad.
