I wanted to bump up this old thread as I just put a booking on hold and the agent gave me a routing from IND-BKK via Europe. I am actually quite happy to take this router as I prefer leaving the US on an evening departure. In the old days it required more miles and I think it even listed separately on the award chart for this routing but since they raised the miles required for an award I am wondering if they just included the routing via Europe as the same mileage requirement as the pacific routing?

Anyone have any recent experiences going from the US to SE Asia via the Atlantic?
