If your trip is a bit later in the year then maybe less of a problem.
It can be a bit hit and miss, but I'm slowly being wooed to LCY from LHR for my GLA commute. Much easier to get to EC1 and so much less hassle at the airport.
Only drawback is I need to check my bag if the plane's full due to the smaller overhead bins, although they do come off very quickly at LCY.
