On reflection - not really sure my answer actually relates to your question properly - read the header too quickly, and not the content in enough detail. I'll leave it here for you to decide:

Personallay - price difference wasn't as much for me for an upcoming trip to from LHR to BEB (but it was a few quid - can't remeber how much). The key swing factor for me was a several hour wait in GLA for the BEB flight, and booking on a BA codeshare, I intend to make use of the Lounge.

As an extra bonus I wasn't expecting, I will now get an additional 10TP which MMB is quoting for the return FlyBe leg, booked as a codeshare.
