Just going to interject my 2 cents worth here...

I agree I find it completely unacceptable that a five-star resort wouldn't provide more warning to guests than just a simple message on the television. It doesn't take much effort to notify the guests by the pool and alert them with one simple person announcing that fogging will ensue shortly. And also let's keep in mind here we're talking about a 5-star resort, which is acceptably (by their own standards) to be held to a different liking than a 2-star roadside motel in the same city. Even more off putting in my mind (I apologize I'm an aspiring hotel entrepreneur and a student in the industry so I akin most things to my own opinions) is the response of management in essentially telling you it's your deal, and to deal with it. Yes, they may have alerted it on the televisions, but being a RESORT they are presumably expansive and guests are expected to utilize more than just the room so it should have been notified via other mediums as well. I would certainly escalate this to Corporate Customer Care.
