Disappointing to hear that your last stay wasn't up to the quality I have grown to expect from the Hilton Mainz. I have always liked this hotel and its staff. Given my previous experiences, I think you are right to chalk it up to construction chaos, and that the right move is to shift over to the Hilton Mainz City (not the city wing of this hotel) or other Mainz option for the duration.
