I've turned down an upgrade from J to F (1A, no less) when the wife and I were on different bookings and she didn't get the upgrade. I've swapped out of Europe Select on KLM before, and traded a CE seat to sit with the wife in ET. I've also been on the receiving end of the swap on a CO domestic flight.
