All I know is that NW 255 was flying above the stall speed, but the NTSB said the AoA remained too high as the pilots continued pulling the nose up past the stick shaker warning and they remained near or in a stall. Perhaps they talked about loading, but I only remember the relationship between AoA and the crash. In the simulator, they were able to gain altitude and fly safely by lowering the AoA a few degrees.
