New to Flyertalk Have been reading tons of threads, comments and ideas. Thank you. I have been trying to accumulate miles for a planned trip in 2010 from LAX to NRT. My target amount of miles is 200K+. Have opened Citi cards MC and Amex and will be buying the max of 40,000 miles through AA with their 30% bonus offer. I have SPG Amex account as well.

I was wondering if it's worth subscribing with DirectTV to earn the 10K. Has anyone taken advantage of this offer? I called DirectTV last night. The only bummer with the offer is that there is a 2-year contract (HD box), 12 months special monthly price, thereafter, the rate goes to their regular rate. Seems like 2 yrs. is a long time to be stuck with DirectTV. But the 10K bonus miles is tempting.

I'm also doing the AA Rewards Dining Program and Eshopping as well.

Any suggestions or experience with DirectTV or this kind of offer would be really helpful before I decide to sign up.
