There is another aspect to the use of Channel 9 which I am not sure that UA's lawyers have twigged yet. The communications between pilots and ATC in an emergency could lead to additional mental trauma claims and additional payouts awarded by the fine residents of Dade County, Miami.
Still, BA's lawyers have not twigged that if you have an accident on the way to the airport after OLCI, then BA are responsible.....
