I am not sure how to contact him, other than trying to find his email by searching some of the formerly popular TWA blogs such as "Smilin Jack". Here is the URL: http://www.smilinjack.com/ Of course of you fly AA frequently, you would be fortunate to have Captain Bob flying your MD-80.

If you search on Herbst (on some blogs, Captain Bob went by Herbst Bob), you will come across his posts and email. If not perhaps Smilin Jack, another former OZ, TW, and AA Captain may be able to help you if you post on his board.

Captain Bob has made statistics of the airline industry a hobby. You may want to have your colleague post some questions on the AA blog on US Aviation, where many former TWA followers and employees commonly are found expressing their thoughts. Good luck.
How cool is that?! My wife and I had "Captain Bob" once DFW-BNA. I definitely remember the experience. His PA announcement prior to takeoff was something like "Flight attendents..... prepare foooooooooorrrr............ TAKEOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!" It was dusk, and I remember as we left the DFW, we had one of the most beautiful lightning displays in a gigantic thunderstorm on the left side of the plane. He had some interesting/funny PA banter with some dry sarcasm. We really enjoyed it, but we could see the look on some of the other passengers that said "We have a crazy man flying this plane."

I tend to think back on that flight when we do DFW-BNA. I'm glad I caught this information- I'm almost positive it was Bob Herbst. Sorry to hijack this thread, but I wonder if others remember having Captain Bob?
