I am worried that cargo hold temperature will freeze the liquid but my google search indicated this is not likely since the temp in the hold is usually only 10 to few degrees lower than the cabin.

Depending on how much you are trying to bring, you are allowed to carry infant formulas onboard. For a recent trip to Asia, I was allowed to bring six 8oz can of infant formulas. That was in additional to water and baby food. Hope this helps.
