Posting from onboard delayed US flight 498...

I'm now sitting in seat 2C on US 498 from PIT to MCI. Granted, I'm still on the ground, but this is my first post to FlyerTalk from inside an airplane.

Anyway, the flight has been delayed here in PIT. Our original depart time was 11:45am, and our new expected departure is 1:00pm due to a mechanical problem with one of the engines of this good old A319. It's a great plane when it works!

I just thought I'd comment that I think they're handling this situation well so far. They've given periodic updates, allowed passengers off the plane who wanted to go back into the terminal, and offered us another round of drinks and the snack basket up here in F, including periodic refills. While it's never fun to be delayed, it makes the situation much better than it could be when the airline staff do what they can to keep us informed and make the experience as pleasant as possible. Kudos to US on their handling of this one.
