The hotel definitely has its own facilities and is generally relaxing - as you would expect a smaller hotel to be. I can't speak from really recent experience, but on a visit two years ago, I was given a suite upgrade for the weekend as a lowly Gold. YMMV, but it's worth staying there if you value a less-hectic experience while still having access to the Westin Diplomat's facilities.
