It works out to 1 cent a mile, which is a pretty good deal. I'm not sure it would be worth it without the extra 1000 mile bonus from the Visa card. Normally it costs 2.7 cents plus a $25 processing fee and any applicable taxes to buy miles, so this is a significantly better deal.
