Definitely better steak houses in Chicago.
You're right, and it was silly of us not to just get off our backsides and venture out into the snow to Gibsons (or anywhere else, frankly). I never expect hotel restaurants to be good but this place is a shocker.
In fairness, the upgrade potential of this massive hotel is very good and the club lounge is useful so I wouldn't say 'avoid this hotel' necessarily but, as previous posters have identified, there are severe service issues and nobody at the hotel seems bothered about anything (such as answering the phone). It is a business hotel and we were on a holiday so perhaps were exposed to more service kinks than most guests.
On my only previous stay I was upgraded to a nice big room on the club floor, but I was only crashing there between flights so I never noticed the service.
