New data point: two Citi AA cardholders in this house, one account was converted to "Elite" late last year and one wasn't. The converted account got the 1,000 bonus miles, the other one didn't.
To my knowledge, I don't have a product that was converted to Elite. That being said, I did just get an e-mail from Citibank for the AA AMEX I canceled, which seemed to indicate the account was still open. I guess I'll call to see if there's some other phantom account I'm not aware of floating out there.
