But one tiny item of correction... When Obama made his final trip from Chicago to DC for the inauguration the government went to "pick him up" and he flew on the presidential plane (which was not called Air Force One since he wasn't president yet) and his family was not with him since they were already in DC. The whole family flew to DC in early January so the girls could start school...perhaps this was the charter flight that pilot captained.
Discovery channel did a piece on Obama's first flight on the plane from Chicago to DC and they included it in their recent Air Force One documentary.
i think you might be right about the charter flight. i originally asked the captain if he flew him "the hawaii vacation flight" but that's how the captain explained it me but still, how cool is that huh?

Sounds like an awesome flight(s)! Thanks for sharing! I guess it makes the MR that much better when everything just goes your way...
I know what the orange bracelet is, but what is the blue bracelet?

Also, as someone from the DC area, they need to start a limited number of PS flights iad-lax.
Great story dude. ^ ^ ^ Thanks for sharing and congrats.
I believe the blue one is a vocal minority bracelet (see
here)

This was in C, by the way. Even more amazing, for the first time that I can recall on UA, the FAs blocked off C so that F could deplane first, and then blocked off Y so that C could deplane. The whole experience was like flying an SQ premium cabin. This will be my second letter in in the space of 8 days, that's never happened before.
This year has just been amazing for crews on UA for me (I think I said this in another thread). The two P.S. crews were beyond stellar and the only bad apple I've encountered is a single gate agent at ORD who was having a very grumpy afternoon. Let's hope SFO-BWI in a middle E+seat tomorrow is up to scratch!
jfk-ps crews rock ^^ and you might have had a f/a friend of mine on your flight as she usually works either the 8am or 11am jfk-sfo flights. i e-mailed her asking if she wanted her favorite flavor tootsie-pop and gave her my flights and wouldn't you know, she was working that day but going "the wrong way

". does the name "trina" ring a bell"
