Am I likely to get lounge access in either LAX or PHX?

I know normally US-Canada does not qualify for lounge access on US, but I am connecting from an Int'l leg. Is the provision any different here?
As a *G, I've never had any issue with using the US lounges after coming from an international destination and connecting on a US flight. The key, however, is that your international leg must be on a *A flight (OZ, SQ, UA). If you are not on a *A flight, you will not get in. Also, if you are not *G, you will most likely not get in.
