Yes - on the 738's, the bulkhead is slightly closer on 1AB, which results in an inch or possibly two of additional legroom in front of 1EF. 1B has a cutout in front of it that adds an inch or additional footroom, but the bulkhead still is closer than in 1EF. In a non-bulkhead row, I think it would be difficult for your child to stand up, especially if the passengers in front of you have their seats reclined.
I know you're not on my flights tomorrow because I have 1E on both segments (and, I'm not going to MCO).
