Unfortunately they are also going back to no standby tomorrow. I will start driving if they insist on that -- not to BOS but definitely NYC.
There's a lot of competition on the DCA/BOS-LGA routes. A friend of mine in BOS who commutes regularly to NYC takes the Acela primarily because of the comfort.
Well, if they are going to redo the 733s for the Shuttle routes then I hope they reconfigure with a decent pitch and freshen up the seats. Old US livery is extremely filthy and worn compared to other airlines. Take a look at the grime around the center arm rests in F class on one of the 757s. I flew an old 733 UA ex-Shuttle a couple of days ago. It was an old plane but it wasn't filthy and the seats were not threadbare.
