I can assure you that review is not the right word, its crunch time. They are not renewing FA contracts with the same conditions. On long haul they will have reduced benefits all round and the extra money they used to earn is gone so no better off than doing short haul. I also understand commission os in flight sales has been cut as well. Any recently hired staff on short term contracts will not have them renewed which I suppose is only far to more senior staff. The best asset BA has is the crews and you start to P*** them off and watch what happens, KLM2 here we come
I think you're underestimating the scale of the problem. All the numbers suggest this is a struggle for survival, with ALL the airlines needing to lose a big chunk of their cost base. They can do this by making staff redundant or by trimming salaries & benefits but keeping most of the people employed. Or they can choose some combination of the options. There's no magic wand or pool of money BA can draw on, so which route would you prefer?
