Such reassurances remind me of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy entry regarding the inhabitants of Planet Earth - "Mostly Harmless".
When it comes to crew friendliness or meal service, I might be willing to risk a flight with an airline has "mostly" gotten over its past problems and "in general" does a good job. But when it comes to matters of life and death, I prefer an airline that has a deeply instilled culture of tackling all flaws with uncompromising dedication. "Generally" and "mostly" just don't cut it.
I read that CI has three times as many fatalities per million passengers flown than most major airlines in Europe and North America. Reason enough to steer clear.
