I was stranded at LHR during the snowstorm on the 1st of February. I tried calling Amex Global Assist collect, but, the operator said that they could not place a call to that number. I tried this a few times and had no luck.

Eventually, I had to use my Amex card to place the calls. These calls are horribly expensive - 3 of them adding up to $ 260.

I complained to Amex during the phone call that the collect scenario was not working and they had no explanation for it.

I assume that Amex will credit my account back for these calls. Any advice on how to approach this?
