The value of the screen would be under the insured value of luggage as per airline standards. Since a screen is easily replaceable and does not represent a sentimental value (at least I'd think so) it would almost be to the OP's advantage to have it stolen and to replace it, safe for the trouble and time expended.
It is funny how we worry about these things being stolen when we don't worry that much for other belongings that might be more valuable and to which one is somehow attached. Of course, the screen would be easier to use for anybody than your favorite suit, so its theft potential is higher.
