I know this is a subjective question but is it "dumb" to use 60,000 miles to upgrade these flights. Right now we have some "average" E+ seats in a VERY full (well, according to the seat map) Y cabins.

I've got about 120K miles in my account and really don't have any other plans to use them.

Do others think this transcon is worth upgrading w/miles?????
Sure! If you are both on the same PNR your upgrades should hopefully clear together and you'll be set. If they don't clear before departure I would consider canceling to avoid the possibility that one clears and the other doesn't.

I use miles for transcon upgrades all the time. I usually manage to earn 11-12K RDM (with the 100% rdm bonus) on a transcon, so spending 15K to upgrade a "leg" is a no brainer, especially on same day returns.
