It will fit under a typical mainline or CRJ seat just fine.
I'm in the same situation and had the same concerns when they moved some of the ATRs on the routes I fly.
My bag, on its side, is 11" deep, 10" high and 24" wide and it fits, if that gives you an idea on the size. If yours fits in the overhead on an RJ, in all likelihood you'll be OK on the ATR.
