Thanks for responding. I sent an email to NWA.com asking about Y-ups, including my confirm # and got the standard language on five day processing for upgrades. I called Worldperks again today and was also told by the agent that the upgrades would only be processed at the 5 day window. I asked her to check with a supervisor - she was very helpful - and after checking with her supervisor, I got the upgrade. Y-ups are really common and instantly processed on CO - I am surprised two of the three agents I spoke to were unaware of them here. In any case, I got the upgrade -- but only after multiple calls, emails, much effort and much time spent on hold. I am still not sure why it wasn't processed automatically as it should have. It ended well, but its hard to imagine spending this much effort with every purchased tix.....
As a CO plat flying on a NW Y fare, you must call your CO elite line for the upgrade at the time of ticketing. NW can't do it for you but CO can. CO will "pulll the record over" to their system and then they will upgrade you. I've done it many times.
