For me, it would depend on the following factors:

- safety record - that rules out CI

- frequency - I think CI/BR/CX/KA all have decent frequencies but TG does not

- airport service/lounge access - depending on the class you are flying. You should try the CX lounge in HKG

- fare / fare rules

- hardware - do you want to try new seat types, new planes, new entertainment systems, etc. - I guess upgrade to F on CI, upgrade to Preminum Economy on BR are some factors

- in-flight service - short flight and they are all pretty good so I am not sure if that matters that much

- mileage - not that important as you said, only 500 miles
