I was on one of the two newly configured A340s on SYD-SCL about 10 days ago... and I really enjoyed the flight. I would have been given the old F seats (Comodoro) on the older configuration planes but the new seats are just as great as the old one, I think.

Anyway, I flew J on 763s via same day connection to LIM after this flight and noticed that the seats on A340s are a bit wider than the ones on 763s, but I don't think extra half inch or so difference in the width would make any difference in the comfort.

I have no clue as to how these newly configured 340 aircrafts are being utilized... considering that there are about three major routes that are operated with A340s (LAX, SYD, and MAD/FRA), I'd think that SYD and MAD/FRA will be given priority over LAX. So, I'd say SYD and MAD/FRA have about 50% chance of getting the newly configured plane, no?
