I live in the US, so usually connect through LHR. I am looking at a weekend side trip from London. The CE flights from LGW to Rome are significantly cheaper. I realize that the airport experience will be quite different between LGW and LHR, but what about the onboard experience? Service/ food/ seats?

I know that there are some other threads that sort of address this, but I haven't found anything recent.
