First, "new" Courtyard Capitol? Do you mean the Capitol/Navy Yard property? Not that new, 2+ years, and not that desirable of a location. Very near the stadium, but near nothing else. The stadium area "one day" will be full of restaurants etc but right now is a ghost town of construction sites and empty condos for the most part. Metro (subway) will take you to the game, consider staying somewhere more central to sights and nightlife in DC.

Getting to Baltimore: On a weekday, take the MARC commuter train. Cheaper than Amtrak, gets you from Union Station in DC to Penn Station in Baltimore in an hour or so. You want the Penn Line. And depending on who the Orioles are playing, line up the hotel sooner rather than later. (May not be an issue on a weekday)

Baltimore to Philadelphia: Amtrak is probably your best bet.
WDC - Hotel =
"new Courtyard"... I have it listed as "CY-WDC/US Capitol"
- -and was planning on taking a cab to the Park and, as needed to hit some sights-n-grub.

Is this an "ok" location to stay, or out-of-the-way to do anything?

Baltimore - Hotel =
Using (the last of my remaining) points for the HH-Hampton Inn at Camden Yards (they're playing the Twins, mid-week...not much worry about selling out/hotel issues, I would hope)

Amtrak to Philly is your best bet.

From 30th St Station take the Septa Subway Market St Line to City Hall and transfer to the Broad St line and take it to the last stop which is the sports complex.

After the game take a cab to PHL.

Make sure to go to Boogs BBQ at Camden Yards and Ben's Chili Bowl at Nats Park. I also like the BBQ in center field in Philly.
Ravens...who ? (ha,ha,ha) j/k
As a left-coast (Seattle) ~fan~ I'm never happy to see Steelers squeak by with the Lombardi. -would have much rather seen the Ravens in.

Thanks for this information on transportation and especially some recommendations on BBQ/Food, nothing like LOCAL KNOWLEDGE !

I'll second the recommendations for Ben's at Nats Park (though you can get a Ben's half-smoke at any hot dog stand) and Boog's at Camden.
Clarification / Preference question on the MARC from Penn vs. Camden Lines.
Is there an advantage (time, cost, schedule, convenience) of taking
Penn w/ a light-rail transfer
vs.
Camden that stops right at the Yards
?

Thanks again everyone - this is fantastic information.
Any other Food / Drink / must-see ideas would be great also.
