Keep in mind that USAir changed the ACARS software to "help" achieve some of the results.
When you arrive at the gate you will notice that ground personnel have been taught to open the cargo doors instantly. This stops the aircraft clock and you have "arrived". An engine may still be running and the jetway operator may be in another concourse but the flight has terminated.
How does this compare to other airlines?
If it means my baggage is on the carousel sooner, then I don't see a problem with it.
