I think I probably know the answer to my question, but I want to make sure before calling AA.

I am booked NRT-BOS-MIA-BOG on AA, and want to use an eVIP to upgrade those segments.
NRT BOS (AA154) is marketed as a non stop, but will stop in ORD and there will be a plane change.

Am I right assuming that it will count as only 1 segment for my eVIP ?
