I'm not a troll! Anyway I frequent this forum but have posted few times. I generally stay at only a few properties so not much experience other than Dulles Airport Marriott and St. Louis Renaissance so that's why.
I received this e-mail:

On behalf of Marriott International, M/A/R/C Research invites you to participate in
an important research survey about Marriott's concierge lounges.
You can complete the survey in about 15 minutes and you can access the survey 24
hours a day, 7 days a week.
Be sure to keep this email until you have completed the survey. If for any reason you
are disconnected or need to leave and return to the survey, you will need the link given
below.

In response to aaupgrade:
-Was this a survey? Yes (a very long one)
-If so what was the perspective of the survey? They focused on comparing the JW to all of the other hotels you stayed at. I had 12 brands (courtyard, marriott, jw, hilton, etc) and then on a scale of 11 total points, divide them between all the 2 hotel combinations on best hotel. They then proceeded to compare just JW (with the new Griffin lounge) with all the hotels on the same rating. Finally on JW, they asked this question:
*************************************
Given the upgrades and added amenities of the new Griffin Club, JW Marriott may consider charging Gold and Platinum Marriott Rewards members a fee to use it. There would be a charge for each night.
In this context, please answer the following questions thinking about the value the new Griffin Club offers you.
At what price would the new Griffin Club be a bargain and you would consider paying to use it?
At what price would the new Griffin Club be so inexpensive that you would doubt its quality and would not consider paying to use it?
At what price would the new Griffin Club be getting expensive, but you would still consider paying to use it?
At what price would the new Griffin Club be too expensive, and you would not consider paying to use it?

-Was it from the perspective that the Griffin Club Lounge was a done deal and they were tweaking the benefits and/or access requirements (as in YES or NO to Gold and Plat complimentary access), or just wanting peoples opinion of the done deal, or was this presented as an idea and they wanted feedback? My impression was it is a done deal and they are seeing if they can squeeze some money from gold/plats. The money part seems undecided, but the upgrades seem in motion. I don't stay at JWs usually, but I'll ask my concierge staff tonight at the Tyson's Corner Marriott.
