Actually the redemption at half miles applies when the passenger is under 12. So an adult can earn and then redeem from their account for kid tickets at half the miles. Pretty good deal. Any other airlines doing this?
Wow -- that is BOTH interesting and obscure! That's Air Portugal, right? They're in the Star Alliance. How is their redemption chart -- and are there big fees associated with redeeming awards, like on some other European carriers?
Otherwise, assuming they won't make it to elite, it could make sense to credit your little one's ff miles to a TP account -- or even your own, if you're not shooting for elite elsewhere. A bit risky, tough. The rule could change! Any transfer options, like through AMEX?
