Since this policy is also radically different to AA's (they have independent one way upgrades which are refundable if not used) it will be interesting to see what happens if AA & BA get anti-trust immunity. If they start things like revenue pooling and increase the number of codeshares, I wonder how much flexibility there will be for upgrading using miles?
