My thought on the overbooking I saw last weekend dealt largely with the timing of the flights involved. I can understand and condone overbooking the flights in the morning and into early afternoon, where there are opportunities to get the passengers to their destination on the same day. I fine the yield management somewhat flawed to overbook the last flight of the night, and incur the additional expense for the overnight accomodations.
