We are there for 12 nights, wondering if the area around has good places to eat , or any tips on Oakwood in general.

I've never been to the Shirokane Oakwood (or any other Oakwood, for that matter), but I've visited a client near the Shirokanedai Metro station (shown on the map on the Oakwood website). It's a slightly upscale neighborhood, but like most Japanese neighborhoods, it has a bit of everything.
If you need an ATM, just go to the nearest post office or 7-11.
