Were you on KA or CX?
KA has a few new configs where they have flat beds in J, and the old KA aircraft have a F that is equivalent to the old CX long-haul J (but the J class on the old A330 config is regional)
If it was on CX, that's pretty good! I've had the 74A (new CX 747 configuration, which means flat beds in J and F) on that route only once before, usually it's just an old A330 with regional business class.
