PS. B-fares ex-LHR are not too expensive if you book with a local agent. Expect around EUR1000 incl Taxes, which is pretty much nothing compared with LH B fares etc.

Check reward availability on the flight first, before booking the ticket - if you're lucky you can grab the space straight away. As long as there is available space for full redemption, you should be able to upgrade on the flight also.
