Japan Airlines May Apply for Government Funds, Asahi Reports

Feb. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Japan Airlines Corp. may apply for tens of billions of yen in financial support from the government, the Asahi newspaper reported, without saying where it obtained the information.

The application would be separate from a request for assistance filed yesterday by Japan’s airline industry, the report said.

Japan Airlines, which will release third-quarter earnings tomorrow, may “significantly” cut its annual forecast, the Asahi said.
