Can I just say that sometimes you can't avoid heavy hand baggage. I bought a dinner service in BKK and rather than pay excess baggage smuggled it onboard in hand luggage. It was so heavy it took two of us to lift into the overhead locker in fact.

As a MUCCI diamente I'm entitled to 20 metric tonnes of cabin bagage in any case.

My Tumi 22" won't fit in the bag gauge as is heavier than the suggested allowance before I put anything into anyway. It normally averages 14kg so it's not that excessive. Still on a full ORD flight they tried to take it off me. I asked for my hold bags to be removed and my F ticket endorsed over to the unfirendly Skies, at which point I was allowed on with it. I'm a MUCCI don't you know.

What we need to do is offload the duty free alcohol BA sell to save on weight. It will also free up the steward's time and improve the service in F.
