RA is a sub-set of Ambassador, so RAs first receive the designated Exec Room or Suite from even a base level Standard room. However, if a higher category room, or even an Executive room is booked, then even an RA is entitled to the next category up, which would generally be a Club room or junior or other sort of suite. RAs cannot be restricted to the two stated category rooms if they actually book those categories. The Ambassador upgrade must then be invoked.

And with the new cards proclaiming "Ambassador", it begs further the interpretation of the best of either the Ambassador or the RA upgrade minimum based on what category room is booked.

Even the oft maligned IC Coex in Seoul now follows the RA policy and upgrades to their Business room and throw in a comp breakfast. Their paucity of suites and other types of rooms that other properties have precludes much further upgrading.
