I was looking at this last night, and here's the deal I think.

You select the fare class you want, then select your dates, then flights, and it shows you a price with a link to "fare rules". If you click that link, it shows you the lowest fare rules no matter what. HOWEVER, the fare it shows you is really what you had selected. If you go to the next page (after entering your password), and click on fare rules from there, it does show you the correct fare rules, and as already shown on the previous page, the correct fare. The problem only appears to be on the "fare rules" link from the one page where it first shows you total price for your trip.
