Yeah, the general consensus is that the new lounge is pretty rubbish. The old lounge is much better, and a lot quieter.

That's their problem. Emirates have one flight a day to JFK on the A380. If they booked the wrong flight, how can that be Emirates problem?

Get over it - you were just unlucky. Would you prefer that Emirates flew you on a defective aircraft? Read the T&C's of your booking, where it states that they can substitute aircraft.
