Now you're just being silly. Did someone chop your legs off? Just stand up and walk to the galley for a few minutes. Have a drink and maybe a chat. If you sit still for 15 hours, then you are asking for trouble whether it's a B777 or an A380.

Each to his own I suppose... you just sound as though you were pissed off because you didn't get the A380, and thus are criticising every other aspect.

Cheers,

We were specifically told for security concerns to stay in our cabin during the flight. I flew a Northwest 747 to Asia and was scheduled to return on their 747 but made a change to take the A380. As always on the Northwest 747 I take at least two walks from my cabin in the upper deck to downstairs and twice around the main deck. Even if you wanted, the aisles in Emirates were so tight and crowded, you could not comfortably walk around the plane. I believe almost every seat on the plane was taken. And the cabin itself had only 4 rows of seats, not much of a walk when you are 3 rows from the lav.

And the business lounge in Dubai was overly crowded. There were long lines for the shower and the sit-down toilet. I had a 4 hour layover in Dubai and was pressed time-wise to get a shower and use the toilet.

When flying to Asia I use ANA, Singapore, Thai and Northwest and their service has been much better than Emirates. I have complained here on Flyertalk about ANA and Singapore's food on some flights, but never about the overall quality of their service. Not once have they ever told me I could not walk around the plane. The Emirates' staff was very nice and friendly, but they did not seem to know how to run the flight. There was always some confusion.

And if Emirates has too few A380's to realistically sustain a schedule, then they should plan in advance and actually schedule the 777 in advance, and let you know when they are making a change.

I will not knowingly fly business in a middle seat and have not done so in 35 years, except for the Emirates. Emirates knew well in advance that they needed the plane for the Sydney-Auckland inaugural flight, yet they continued to list it for sale to and from JFK as an A380. And yes I am pissed because I cut out a planned stopover in Asia and flew 8 hours to get to Dubai, when Emirates could have sent an e-mail about the change, allowing me to take a shorter routing to the US. A couple from India flying first said they could have taken a nonstop to the US. They said they were returning on the A380 on the 10:40 AM flight from JFK. I told them it was scheduled to be a 777. Emirates is using the A380 for marketing even when they know it is not being used.
