According to the T&C regulations, Ambassador members are entitled to a 1-category room upgrade.

Since Royal Ambassador status is a subset of the Ambassador programme, I believe that you can argue that the hotel has no choice but to provide you with a minimum 1-category room upgrade, even if you book a suite or club room.
