I guess I am splitting hairs, but it is my wife's first time in BA FIRST and I would like to make it a special trip.
mktozd, myself and mrs globalste have been debating the same thing - infact there is a thread on here last week if you search under my name
The info that i have is the following:
2ak, too far to have a quiet conversation and you cant hold hands in the 747. You get the window seat, but if like myself and mrs globalste you like feel you are watching a film together, then you cant really because you're the other side of the cabin facing away from each other.
4ef, they dont have an overhead locker, but you probably wont have much luggage anyway? If you do, you can use the forward locker. 4ef has no one in front of you and also not next to the galley.
I originally reserved 2ak for us, but this week i changed it to 4ef. I like the idea that you can pull the screen down between you and you're close together to share the experience. We're also on an evening flight to CapeTown so for us it will be dinner, a film and some bubbles then sleep, which kindof makes the window seat a nonsense idea - one only looks out of the window when one is bored really.
IMO, with 2ak you may as well be on your jack jones. Also, dont go thinking the stool is comfortable to sit on to dine together, from what ive read it is far from it and you cant be eg 6'2 and 15st because you wont squeeze into it.
Hope this helps a bit.
